Hi Sarah, thank you for asking. Was your mother adopted through Holt International? If so, we could help you try to track down her birth and family records – it depends on how much information her family left with her when she entered the orphanage. For more specific information, please email our Post Adoption Services Department at pas@holtinternational.org, they are the birth search experts over there and will be able to help you as much as they can.

My mother grew up in Do Bong Orphanage. She was lost from her family around age 7 and was never able to find them.

Hi Deborah, you can make an official inquiry into your birth records! That’s something you will have to initiate with our Post Adoption Services (PAS) department. You can learn more about a birth search here: https://www.holtinternational.org/post-adoption/birth-search/ You can also email our PAS team at pas@holtinternational.org! They will be thrilled to assist you.

I was 7 mnths old, very sick. My final destination was O’Hare to meet my adoptive parents. I wonder if Holt would still have any of the medical records and adoption records. I’d like to know anything on my birth parents. I have little information. I do have my original relinquish papers, and original birth certificate. But I’d like to know more.
I have no info on biological father at all.
Please contact me if Holt still has paperwork from 50 yro ago.
Thank you kindly in advance.

We adopted our son from South Korea almost a year ago. He has medical challenges but is thriving so well here in the States and is so very loved. Thank you all for all you do for the children and families.

Hi Debbie, keep an eye on your email and our social media pages! We announce each year’s scholarship contest several times in both places. Here is the adoptee scholarship page, to check on: https://www.holtinternational.org/post-adoption/adoptee-scholarship/ I believe that we plan to announce next year’s prompt in January or February, and submissions are usually due by June.
